I used to upgrade my Apple portable devices every year anyway.

With Apple Pay and 12 months of interest-free payments, and upgrading every year, my cost of ownership was pretty much the same.
However, seeing Apple’s utterly nonsensical price hikes today— even the Apple TV, which hardly anyone uses, is up 50%—and chances are that storage pricing won’t be reduced in future storage cycles either. It’s basically inflation by stealth.
I’ve decided I’m never upgrading again.
By the time 2030 rolls around, at the earliest it’ll be 2028.
By then, AGI should be here, and nobody will need to mess around with phones anymore—everyone will have a box of memory and enter the silicon-based world.
Thank you, everyone.
