$BTC
This on-chain image is truly remarkable. Long-term holders now control 78.9% to 79% of the circulating Bitcoin supply—an all-time high that surpasses every previous peak. For comparison, the previous record was 74.5% during the 2022-2023 base zone and 71.5% in 2018-2019. And this figure keeps rising.
At the same time, nearly 11 million BTC are now held in positions at a loss—also a record. But here’s the crux: the coins experiencing those losses aren’t being sold. The reactivation of old coins—BTC that moves after a long period of inactivity—has only reached 218,421 BTC since the start of the year up to now, the lowest level since 2012. Compare it with 2024, when 1.18 million BTC had been reactivated by June. High-conviction holders are truly sitting tight.
