The Observatory issued a yellow rainstorm warning signal at 11:10 a.m.

The Observatory stated that some low-lying areas and poorly drained areas may experience flooding, and heavy rain may also cause flash floods. Citizens should take appropriate precautions and stay away from rivers.

The Observatory said that a trough of low pressure will continue to linger over the coast of southern China to the northern part of the South China Sea today, with heavy showers and squally thunderstorms in the region at times. It is forecast that Hong Kong will be mainly cloudy today with showers and a few squally thunderstorms, with fairly heavy rain at first. Light to moderate south to southwesterly winds are expected. Looking ahead, there will still be showers tomorrow. In the middle of this week, there will be sunny periods at times, with the weather gradually becoming very hot, as well as one or two showers.
