SemiAnalysis reports: Neocloud executives fear NVIDIA retaliation for using non-NVIDIA hardware

SemiAnalysis reveals that neocloud executives believe that if certain clusters use non-NVIDIA networking equipment, AMD GPUs, or TPUs, NVIDIA may retaliate by withholding early GPU allocations, and by not supporting their IPOs or venture capital funding.
These executives say that NVIDIA uses strong-arm tactics to force them to use only NVIDIA hardware. However, hyperscale cloud providers are usually not subject to such restrictions due to their greater purchasing power.
Related discussions point out that NVIDIA has previously invested in neocloud companies such as IREN, CRWV, NBIS, and allocated GPU resources to them, which is the basis for the market to form the above expectations.
