OpenAI upgrades Codex experience: supports long conversation hover jump and zoom alignment

According to Dongcha Beating monitoring, Codex released this week’s update, addressing the inconvenience of navigating long conversations as well as misalignment issues affecting interface elements during scaling. For long-conversation scenarios, Codex introduced a navigation rail—users can preview and jump directly to the nearby conversation turn by hovering the cursor over the edge of a slot. Meanwhile, thread scrolling performance is smoother, and when switching within long conversations, your browsing position can be automatically maintained.

When the interface is scaled, alignment protection has been added to ensure that elements such as Tooltips, menus, dialog boxes, selection bubbles, drag previews, and autocomplete do not become misaligned. The search range in settings has been expanded to include more appearance controls, host filtering, and customizable Provider settings, along with additional control options, and a pet-dedicated panel has been added. Archive management operations have been simplified, and unread badges on the Dock bar and sidebar have been synchronized.

In terms of underlying performance and collaboration, the update reduces background workload during thread switching and supports segmented loading of deeper local history records. For cross-platform interactions, when copying text from Codex to Slack, Markdown formatting can now be preserved, and the issue where the interface freezes when pasting large blocks of text has been fixed. At the same time, draft text will not be lost during handoff between threads, and the pasted image preview also supports navigation using the arrow keys.
