On the 27th local time, Germany, the Czech Republic, and other places set new national high-temperature records, while governments in countries such as Hungary and Poland issued high-temperature alerts nationwide. According to preliminary data released by the German Meteorological Service, the temperature measured in the Mücker-Drewitz area of eastern Germany reached 41.5 degrees Celsius on the 27th, breaking the high-temperature record for the second consecutive day. The persistent heat in Germany has caused damage to highway surfaces in many areas, leading to closures or speed restrictions on numerous sections. The railway authorities urged the public to avoid long-distance travel that day. The high temperatures and drought have also sharply increased the risk of forest fires. The German Meteorological Service has raised the forest fire risk level to the highest in Bavaria and parts of eastern Germany. (CCTV News)
