On the 27th of the local time, U.S. President Trump said that the U.S. military had just struck Iran’s missile and drone storage sites, as well as coastal radar stations, because they had once again violated the ceasefire agreement. U.S. Central Command said in a statement posted on social media on the 27th that the U.S. military carried out a new round of strikes on multiple targets inside Iran that day. The statement said that Iran’s armed forces launched an attack drone at 27 Eastern Time early that morning and hit a Panama-flagged oil tanker sailing in waters near the Strait of Hormuz. The military strike action launched by the U.S. military that day was a direct response to “Iran’s continued targeting of commercial vessels.” U.S. warplanes struck Iran’s military surveillance facilities, communication systems, air defense positions, drone storage facilities, and mine-laying equipment, among other targets.
