South Korean government establishes cross-departmental agency to tackle AI-related crimes.

Golden Finance reported that on June 26, the South Korean government established a cross-departmental consultation body to address criminal activities carried out using artificial intelligence (AI) technology, such as “digital crimes,” financial scams, and false advertising. This new body is called the “cross-departmental consultation body to address crimes involving AI,” and its members come from 10 government departments, including the Communications Commission for Broadcasting Media, the Ministry of Science and Technology and Information and Communications, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the Financial Services Commission, the National Police Agency, and others.
