A record $16.3 billion flooded into robotics startups in Q1 2026

PitchBook data shows 492 deals in Q1 2026 alone, breaking the previous record; deal value reached 4.5 times the 2021–2025 average. Highlights include Skild AI raising $1.4 billion for its "universal brain for all-form robots," as well as funding for defense tech companies like Shield AI and Saronic.
Investors are betting on AI moving from screens to real-world tasks, such as warehouses, vehicles, and battlefields, pushing the robotics sector past fintech in private market value.
