BOOMER: “Then save more.”
ME: “At $600 a month, that’s over 13 years just to get through the front door.”
BOOMER: “Find a higher-paying job.”
ME: “I already earn $78,000 a year.”
BOOMER: “We bought our first place before we turned 25.”
ME: “Homes cost a fraction of today’s prices, and mortgage rates were nowhere near what buyers face now.”
BOOMER: “Well, that’s not on me.”
Maybe not directly.
But it’s strange to support the policies that created the problem, then act shocked when younger generations are frustrated by the result.
