Coin World News reported that on Saturday, an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz was hit by shelling, the latest escalation in the renewed tensions between the United States and Iran after a provisional agreement was reached to end hostilities in the region. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Center stated that a vessel in the strait was struck by an "unidentified object," causing damage to the hull, but the crew was reported safe. Bahrain also condemned Iran's drone attack on Saturday, calling it a "blatant violation" of its sovereignty. These new attacks come as the United States and Iran are supposed to be in a 60-day ceasefire negotiation, with both sides consulting on ending the war. However, each accuses the other of violating the terms of the agreement.
