🚨 Micron signs long-term contracts, signaling memory chip shortage until 2027

Guojin Securities has just released a report showing that Micron Technology is stepping up the signing of long-term contracts (SCA) with customers to lock in prices and reduce revenue volatility. To date, Micron has completed 16 strategic agreements covering data centers, consumer electronics, and automotive sectors. The contract term for automotive customers is 3 years, while other sectors are 5 years. These 16 SCAs account for 20% of Micron's DRAM exports and one-third of its NAND shipments.
Notably, the prices in these contracts are forecast to generate profits exceeding the previous cycle peak. Micron predicts that DRAM and NAND supply will remain tight until 2027. Guojin Securities believes the storage industry will maintain a shortage, helping Micron sustain high profit margins and reduce business cyclicality.
Impact: This move strengthens Micron's position in the memory market while signaling strong demand from AI and data centers. MU stock may benefit from more stable earnings prospects. Will competitors like Samsung and SK Hynix follow suit?
