Mars Finance News, June 27 — Citrini analyst Zephyr cited China's mobile phone shipment data, noting that foreign brands including iPhone saw a 19.2% year-over-year decline in shipments in May, while domestic brands such as Huawei drove overall shipments up 16.5%, increasing pressure on Apple in the Chinese market. Zephyr pointed out that Apple faces not only pricing issues but also a DRAM supply shortage, and that CXMT products primarily serve the Chinese market, requiring competition with Huawei, which uses CXMT and the SwaySure joint venture memory fab. Zephyr believes that without adopting CXMT DRAM, Apple will struggle to maintain its China market share, while the Kirin 9040 will significantly narrow the SoC performance gap, and hinted that Apple is lobbying to introduce 3D NAND flash memory products produced by Yangtze Memory Technologies Co. (YMTC). Today's news: Apple is lobbying the Trump administration to allow it to purchase DRAM chips made by Chinese company ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT).
