Yu Weining, Chief Statistician of the Industrial Department of the National Bureau of Statistics, interpreted the profits data of industrial enterprises for the period from January to May 2026. Yu Weining stated that the electronics industry played a significant supporting role. From January to May, the profits of equipment manufacturing enterprises above the designated size increased by 14.1% year-on-year, driving the profit growth of all industrial enterprises above the designated size by 5.2 percentage points. By industry, the global technological transformation in artificial intelligence has led to a surge in demand for high-end computing chips and memory chips, driving rapid profit growth in the electronics industry. From January to May, the profits of the electronics industry increased by 103.9%, contributing 43.1% to the profit growth of all industrial enterprises above the designated size, making it an important pillar for the relatively fast profit growth of industrial enterprises above the designated size.
