In a report to clients, Morgan Stanley Chief US Economist Michael Gapen said the data received since the June Federal Open Market Committee meeting has made him "slightly more comfortable" with his base forecast of no rate hikes. He cited reasons including falling oil prices after the US-Iran memorandum of understanding and expectations that the tariff pass-through phenomenon is about to end.
