OpenAI releases GPT-5.6 series models, naming Sol, Terra, Luna sparks attention from crypto community
Deep Tide TechFlow news: On June 27, OpenAI released its next-generation GPT-5.6 series models, including three products: Sol, Terra, and Luna.
Among them, Sol is positioned as a flagship-level model, Terra is aimed at everyday work scenarios with a focus on balancing performance and cost; Luna is positioned as a faster model version with a cost advantage.
Currently, the GPT-5.6 series is only available for a limited preview to certain partners, and OpenAI plans to gradually expand access over the coming weeks.
Of note, the naming of this model overlaps with multiple well-known projects in the crypto industry. In particular, Sol is similar to Solana (SOL) in name, while Terra and Luna each correspond to the Terra ecosystem and its token LUNA, prompting widespread discussion in the crypto community.
