Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, a gas giant that could hold more than a thousand Earths. Its colors are striped brown, white, and orange due to ammonia clouds that move rapidly.

Its most famous feature is the Great Red Spot, a giant storm that has been swirling for hundreds of years and is larger than Earth. Jupiter rotates very fast, a day there is only about ten Earth hours.

It has many moons, including Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. Europa is even thought to have a water ocean beneath its ice, an interesting place to look for life.

Its strong gravity acts like a guard, pulling in comets so they don't often fall into the inner planets.
