Small aircraft crashes into Beijing CITIC Tower, pilot believed dead

The two-seat Sunward SA60L Aurora, operated by Shuangyue General Aviation, took off from the nearby Shifo Temple Airport around 6 p.m. local time before colliding with the 109-story CITIC Tower, also known as "China Zun."
Pilot Liu Junhua is presumed dead. No other fatalities have been confirmed, but some individuals may have sustained minor injuries from falling debris, such as wing components. Emergency responders quickly extinguished the small fire, evacuated the building, and found that due to the aircraft's small size and low fuel load, damage to the building's exterior was limited.
