Russia plans to ban cryptocurrency mining in Moscow and some regions from July 1.

Mars Finance News, June 26, according to TASS, the Russian Ministry of Energy has drafted a government resolution proposal to ban cryptocurrency mining in Moscow, Moscow Oblast, and parts of Kursk Oblast starting July 1, 2026, with the ban lasting until December 31, 2032. Russian authorities estimate that Moscow and Moscow Oblast currently have 65 data centers connected, with a total power capacity of 734 MW, of which 19 data centers are located in Moscow Oblast with a combined power capacity of 233 MW.
