Trump threatens 100% tariff on countries that impose digital services tax.
US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose a 100% tariff on all goods from any country that levies a digital services tax on American companies.
On Friday, Trump said in a social media post that this new tariff would override any trade agreement reached with the other country, regardless of whether these agreements have already been implemented, signed, or not implemented.
Amazon’s stock price is currently up 2.1%, while Meta is up 2.2%; Alphabet, Google’s parent company, is down 0.3%, after falling as much as 2.1% earlier; Apple rebounded 1%, after earlier rising as much as 1.9%.
