Bitcoin Briefly Touched $58,000, Liquidations Reached $430 Million in One Hour
Bitcoin was observed crashing until it briefly touched the $58,100 price area, which officially became the new lowest level of 2026 so far before it ultimately rebounded back to the $60.00 area when this article was published. Citing on-chain data from Coinglass, total liquidations across the entire market in the past 24 hours reached $1.265 billion, with more than 209,000 traders being liquidated, including more than $430 million that was forcibly liquidated in just the last hour.
This sharp correction also directly impacted Bitcoin-affiliated stocks, where Michael Saylor’s Strategy Shares (STRC) and MicroStrategy (MSTR) were also observed weakening and briefly touched the $74 and $86 price areas.
At the same time, the US technology stock index, the Nasdaq 100, also erased all its daily gains and turned negative after falling more than -2% in just 30 minutes. The movements of these two markets ran in parallel amid high volatility.
