$400k disguised as consulting fees, this kind of operation is probably not uncommon in DC, but it only came to light this time because of the collapse of FTX.

CoinWorld News reports that the FTX fallout continues to escalate. A judge has ordered Michelle Bond to stand trial on November 9 at the Manhattan federal court. The order was issued after she failed to successfully apply to have the case dismissed, and the matter will extend FTX’s impact to U.S. campaign finance laws. Bond faces four criminal charges related to violations of campaign finance rules. Prosecutors allege that she received illegal support in her campaign in New York’s 1st Congressional District. Prosecutors further allege that Salame helped arrange the transfer of $400,000 from FTX through consulting arrangements, disguised as campaign-related income. This case may become the final criminal case related to the collapse of FTX.
