The House Financial Services Committee scheduled a July 17 hearing in New York on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. The bill would divide oversight between the CFTC for spot digital commodity markets and the SEC for digital assets that qualify as investment contracts. The Senate Banking Committee advanced the CLARITY Act 15-9 on May 14. The Senate also passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act 85-5 on June 22, with a provision blocking the Fed from issuing a CBDC through the end of 2030.
