This is the heaviest favorite on the board so far. 80% Senegal is high, but it is justified. The gap in physicality, tempo, and individual quality is too wide. Iraq needs a perfect game and Senegal to collapse. I do not see it.
Senegal – Strengths / Weaknesses
Strengths: Pure athleticism and European pedigree. Kalidou Koulibaly and Abdou Diallo at the back, Pape Matar Sarr and Idrissa Gueye in midfield, Sadio Mané, Nicolas Jackson, and Ismaïla Sarr up front. They win 90% of physical duels at this level. Press is coordinated, transition is deadly. Set pieces with Koulibaly and Niakhaté are a weapon. They played AFCON and World Cup games at this intensity already.
