Franklin Templeton Completes Acquisition of 250 Digital, Officially Establishes Franklin Crypto Asset Management Division

Franklin Templeton announced the completion of its acquisition of crypto investment management firm 250 Digital, with the deal including the 250 Digital investment team and all liquidity crypto strategies previously operated by CoinFund. Franklin Templeton will inject capital into these strategies.

With the deal closed, Franklin Templeton has officially established its dedicated crypto asset management division, Franklin Crypto, led by 250 Digital co-founder Christopher Perkins as head, with Seth Ginns as Chief Investment Officer, co-managed alongside Tony Pecore of Franklin Templeton's digital asset team, reporting to the company's head of innovation, Sandy Kaul.

Franklin Crypto will offer actively managed crypto strategies to institutional investors.

Franklin Templeton announced in April 2026 its acquisition of 250 Digital, a spin-off from venture capital firm CoinFund, to expand its cryptocurrency investment business.

Following the completion of the acquisition, Franklin Templeton will launch a crypto division focused on serving pension funds and sovereign wealth funds, naming it "Franklin Crypto."
