Franklin Templeton Completes Acquisition of 250 Digital, Officially Establishes Franklin Crypto Crypto Asset Management Division

Franklin Templeton (Franklin Templeton) announced the completion of its acquisition of crypto investment management firm 250 Digital. The transaction includes the 250 Digital investment team and all liquid crypto strategies previously operated by CoinFund, and Franklin Templeton will inject capital into these strategies.

Upon completion of the transaction, Franklin Templeton officially established its dedicated crypto asset management division, Franklin Crypto. 250 Digital co-founder Christopher Perkins will serve as the head, with Seth Ginns as Chief Investment Officer. They will manage the division together with Tony Pecore from Franklin Templeton’s digital assets team and report to Sandy Kaul, the company’s head of innovation.

Franklin Crypto will offer actively managed crypto strategies to institutional investors.

In April 2026, Franklin Templeton announced the acquisition of the spin-off company 250 Digital from venture capital firm CoinFund to expand its cryptocurrency investment business.

After the acquisition transaction is completed, Franklin Templeton will launch a crypto division focused on serving pension funds and sovereign wealth funds and name it “Franklin Crypto.”
