RLUSD's growth is more than just a number It reflects increasing confidence in Ripple's ecosystem The real question is whether this momentum can translate into broader XRP adoption over time
RLUSD supply surpasses $800 million! Why is the balance shifting for XRP?
XRP has overtaken Ethereum in RLUSD supply, reaching $801 million.
It is highlighted that this shift could boost institutional interest in XRP.
Growth in the payments and tokenization sectors has reportedly increased the visibility of the $XRP ecosystem.
A new balance of power may be emerging against Ethereum’s long-standing dominance in the token space.
For the first time, XRP has surpassed Ethereum in RLUSD supply. While the volume of RLUSD on the network reached $801 million, the supply on Ethereum stood at $795 million. This development signals a notable shift in the competitive landscape of stablecoins.
The rise in RLUSD is viewed as more than just a difference in supply figures between the two blockchains. As a US dollar-backed stablecoin, RLUSD stands out due to its focus on institutional use cases and regulatory compliance. According to available data, the product has also been recognized as the first US dollar-backed stablecoin to launch in Japan.
Surpassing Ethereum’s $795 million level with an RLUSD supply of $801 million is seen as a new indicator of where institutional preference might shift within the stablecoin market.
The fact that RLUSD is issued directly on XRP means that institutions integrating this asset also connect to the XRP Ledger infrastructure. This creates a network effect that could facilitate the adoption of other XRP-based assets and services by participating organizations.
Expanding institutional use cases
RLUSD is reportedly attracting interest from banks, payment service providers, custodians, and exchanges as a reliable digital dollar infrastructure. Behind this interest lies a regulatory-compliant structure and a technical framework designed for institutional use.
It is reported that the developments taking place behind the scenes have done more than just increase network liquidity. RLUSD is said to be accelerating adoption in the areas of payments, tokenization, and real-world assets, prompting major exchanges and financial service providers to strengthen their XRP integrations.
