Yen at 40-Year Low Could Add $5.8B to Japanese Automaker Profits

A weak yen could lift Japanese automaker profits by about 934 billion yen, or $5.8 billion, this year. Toyota assumed 150 yen to the US dollar in early May guidance, while the current level is around 161 yen. Crude oil prices calculated in yen have fallen over 30% from their peak in late April.
