#WorldCup🇺🇸vs🇹🇷
My prediction: Türkiye 2-1 USA
Polymarket:
• Türkiye 4.00x / 25% • Draw 4.35x / 23% • USA 1.89x / 53%
24H volume: $2.63M
The market has the hosts as clear favorites, and there is a fair reason for that. But as a Turk, my heart is with our team, and this game is not as one-sided as it looks on paper.
Türkiye – Strengths / Weaknesses
Strengths: Our transition game is one of the most dangerous in the tournament. With Arda Güler, Kenan Yıldız and Kerem Aktürkoğlu, when we break we reach the goal in 3 passes. Hakan Çalhanoğlu is a weapon on set pieces, and the Orkun – İsmail pairing gives us pressing resistance. Team spirit is high, Montella has the system settled.
Weaknesses: The defensive line. The Abdülkerim – Merih pairing is good in the air but we are slow against balls played in behind. When our fullbacks Ferdi / Zeki push up, we leave space on the wings. And the classic: concentration. We switch off between minutes 45-60, that is usually when we concede.
USA – Strengths / Weaknesses
Strengths: They are the home team. Crowd, climate, pitch, all in their favor. Pulisic, Weah, McKennie, Musah, all playing at European tempo. Physically they are a level above us, press after press. The 1.89x is not for nothing.
Weaknesses: Finishing. Balogun / Pepi are not a clinical No.9, they get into positions but do not put them away. The center back pairing Ream – Richards falls apart against one through ball from Arda. And there is home pressure too, if the goal is late the crowd turns.
How does the game end?
USA starts with possession, around 60%. In the 22nd minute Pulisic crosses from the left, McKennie heads in, 1-0. Then the classic Türkiye comeback. 38th minute, Hakan corner, Merih header, 1-1. Second half, 71st minute, Arda slips a through ball, Kenan finishes one-on-one, 2-1.
On paper the USA is 53% favorite, that is fair. But I am Turkish, my heart is with us. This generation carries the spirit of 2002. With Türkiye at 4.00x, a Türkiye win is worth a shot.
Come on boys. Let this one be ours. 🇹🇷
