Munger's final mistake.

Starting from Q1 2021, Munger began buying Alibaba (BABA) through Daily Journal Corporation, where he serves as chairman.
In the first quarter, he bought about 165k shares, and continued to add to his position, reaching about 600k shares by the end of 2021, making it a significant holding for the company (once accounting for nearly 30% of his U.S. stock portfolio).
During this period, the stock price plummeted, and he increased his position despite unrealized losses.
In Q1 2022, he significantly reduced his holdings: sold about half (300k shares), partially cutting his losses.
Overall, from the initial purchase to partial sale, the unrealized loss was about 40%+.
At the Daily Journal shareholder meeting in February 2023, 99-year-old Munger explicitly stated: Alibaba is ultimately still a retailer.
On November 28, 2023, Munger passed away (at age 99, 34 days before his 100th birthday).
