Mars Finance News, June 24 — South Korea has postponed its planned launch of single-stock weekly options, originally scheduled for June 29, which covers stocks such as SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics.
Single-stock weekly options are options products based on individual stocks with weekly expiration, helping to improve market trading flexibility and risk management efficiency.
This move again indicates that, after sharp stock market volatility, regulators are concerned about the market.
A representative from the Korea Exchange stated, "No decision has been made yet."
Previously, South Korea's financial regulators expressed regret over the launch of single-stock leveraged ETFs last month and warned that their negative side effects have intensified.
