The Day I Learned That Patience Is Also a Position

On June 24, 2026, I added Bitcoin to my portfolio at an entry price of $62,911.90. It wasn't a massive investment, and I wasn't expecting to become profitable overnight. My goal was simple: take a position based on my analysis and give the market enough time to prove whether my thesis was right or wrong.

Like many traders, I felt excited immediately after entering the trade.

You know the feeling.

You open the chart more frequently than usual. You start calculating potential targets. You imagine different scenarios and quietly hope the market starts moving in your favor sooner rather than later.

But markets have a way of reminding us that they follow their own timeline.

Shortly after my entry, Bitcoin slipped below my purchase price and traded around $62,698.10. Suddenly, my position was showing a small unrealized loss.

Was it a huge loss? No.

Did it still bother me? Absolutely.

Every trader enjoys seeing green numbers. Nobody opens a position hoping to watch it move into the red. For a moment, I questioned my timing. Maybe I entered too early. Maybe I should have waited for a better price.

But then I reminded myself of something important:

Successful trading isn't about making perfect entries every single time.

It's about managing emotions when the market doesn't immediately reward your decision.

That's why I chose to hold.

Instead of focusing on short-term price fluctuations, I focused on the reason I entered the trade in the first place. Markets move in cycles. Some days reward confidence. Other days test conviction.

This position is currently testing mine.

One lesson that trading continues to teach me is that emotions are expensive. Fear can convince you to exit too early. Greed can push you to take unnecessary risks. The real challenge is finding balance between the two.

Looking at this trade today, I don't see a loss.

I see a reminder.

A reminder that patience is a skill.

A reminder that discipline matters more than predictions.

And a reminder that every trade is a chapter, not the entire story.

Whether this Bitcoin position eventually becomes a profitable trade or simply another valuable lesson, I'm glad I had the confidence to take the opportunity and the discipline to stick with my plan.

Final Thought

The market doesn't always reward you immediately. Sometimes the greatest return isn't measured in dollars—it's measured in experience, patience, and emotional control.

For now, I'm staying committed to my strategy, holding my BTC position, and letting the market write the next chapter.

The journey continues. 🚀
