Iranian parliament speaker Kalibaf said today (June 24) that even under the most difficult and complex conditions, Iran has not abandoned its friends and strategic partners. For Iran, a ceasefire in Lebanon is just as important as a ceasefire in Iran. Kalibaf said that Iran considers the withdrawal of foreign military forces from the region a strategic goal. Experience shows that foreign military bases in the West Asia region have not brought lasting security; instead, they have become a source of instability. Kalibaf also said that with the utmost sincerity, Iran announces to all Islamic countries—especially regional countries, particularly the Gulf states—that Iran is ready to reach security agreements and consolidate them through economic cooperation, so as to make this land safe for all investors and achieve overall security in the face of a common enemy.
