*World Cup Group Standings Table* is the chart used to determine which teams advance to the Round of 16.

Simplified like this:

### *1. Fill in the Standings Table*
Each group has 4 teams. The table usually looks like this:
Pos Team Played Wins Draws Losses Goals For Goals Against Goal Difference Points
1 Team A 3 2 1 0 5 2 +3 7
2 Team B 3 1 2 0 4 3 +1 5
*Brief notes:*
- *Played*: Number of matches already played. Max 3 matches in the group stage
- *Wins/Draws/Losses*: Match results
- *Goals For/Against*: Total goals scored and conceded
- *Goal Difference*: Goals For minus Goals Against
- *Points*: Win = 3 points, Draw = 1 point, Loss = 0

### *2. Qualification Rules*
1. *Group winners & runners-up qualify* for the Round of 16. So positions 1 & 2.
2. *Ranking is determined first by points*. More points = higher rank.

### *3. If Points Are Tied, the Tiebreakers Are*
If two teams have the same points, the order is:
1. *Goal Difference* — the larger one wins
2. *Goals For* — the team with more goals wins
3. *Head-to-head result* — who won when they met directly
4. *Fair play points* — fewer yellow/red cards
5. *Draw lots* — decided by FIFA via a draw

Example: Team A and Team B both have 4 points. Team A has a goal difference of +2, while Team B has 0. That means Team A is ranked higher.

### *4. How to Read It Quickly*
- *Green*: Usually positions 1–2 = safely advance
- *Red*: Positions 3–4 = eliminated
- *"X points from Y matches"*: For example, 6 points from 2 matches = already guaranteed to advance even if the last match is lost

---

In short: getting 4 points already means about a 75% chance to advance. 6 points = 100% guaranteed. Goal difference is crucial when points are close.
