Trump: Iran has fully agreed to accept long-term nuclear inspections; this is a prerequisite for further negotiations.
Gold Finance reports, June 23rd: U.S. President Trump announced that although Iran has raised protests and issued false statements to the contrary, and despite the relentless efforts of so-called fake news media to belittle the significance of America’s victory, Iran has fully and thoroughly agreed to accept long-term (even permanent!) inspections at the highest level. This will ensure “nuclear integrity.” If Iran does not agree to this, there will be no further negotiations!
Based on this and other major concessions made by Iran, I have agreed to allow the Strait of Hormuz to remain open and to no longer implement a maritime blockade. However, all ships will continue to stand by in place so that the blockade can be reimposed if needed, although it currently seems highly unlikely that this will happen.
Funds released by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and/or sanctions lifted will be placed under escrow accounts controlled by the United States and used to purchase food and medical supplies, and they must be fully sourced from the United States, including corn, wheat, and soybeans purchased from our great American farmers.
These are supplies Iran urgently needs. This is a humanitarian crisis, and I believe immediate assistance is necessary to prevent it from becoming too late. Negotiations are progressing smoothly!
