Gold Finance News reported that on June 24, according to CNBC, as the selection process for the new chair of the Atlanta Federal Reserve enters its seventh month, the hiring process is drawing close attention. The public hopes to observe how the new U.S. Federal Reserve chair, Wosh, will reshape the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), which is responsible for setting interest-rate policy. As Wosh begins to exert personal influence at the Federal Reserve, this selection process has also changed. According to two people familiar with the hiring process, during the tenure of former Federal Reserve Chair Powell, the Federal Reserve had already been looking for candidates for the position of president of the Atlanta Fed. However, in order to allow Wosh to take the lead in this appointment, the selection process was temporarily paused. Since the relevant search work is still ongoing, both of the insiders requested anonymity. They said that Michael Faulkender, a former senior Treasury Department official during President Trump’s administration, was also subsequently included on the list of candidates being considered for the Atlanta Fed president position. It is currently unclear whether Faulkender remains a candidate.
