Catholic Leaders Oppose Clarity Act Over Illicit Finance Safeguards

Close to 100 Catholic leaders opposed Section 604 of the Clarity Act in a letter to Senate leaders. The Alliance to End Human Trafficking said the BRCA provision could hinder investigations into crypto-related crime. Digital Chamber CEO Cody Carbone said Section 604 only clarifies that non-custodial developers are not money transmitters.
