Golden Finance reported that on June 23, according to CCTV, on June 22, Professor Hiroyuki Kamibe of Kobe Gakuin University in Japan disclosed on social media that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and her secretary, Tsuyoshi Kinoshita, were suspected of violating Japan’s Political Funds Control Law. There were alleged issues such as false entries in political funding income-and-expenditure reports, and Kamibe filed a denunciation with the prosecutorial authorities regarding this matter. Through an investigation into the internal ledgers of Takaichi’s office, Kamibe found that the Takaichi camp allegedly recorded funds used by corporate executives to purchase tickets to political fundraising parties as personal political donations, thereby causing false entries in the political funding income-and-expenditure reports. In addition, because ticket purchasers can receive income tax reductions under the name of “donations,” the conduct was also suspected of tax evasion and of helping others to evade taxes. The materials Kamibe has indicate that such operations can be traced back as far as more than ten years ago, and that it was a long-term, organized practice. He therefore determined in his denunciation and statement of the circumstances that the conduct had a “bad nature,”.
