Wu Shuo learned that according to the U.S. Treasury Department OFAC and Chainalysis, OFAC sanctioned 3 individuals and 6 entities on June 22, claiming they are involved in assisting financial transactions on behalf of ISIS. Chainalysis stated that this action involved helping individuals from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa transfer cryptocurrency assets to ISIS, including the Syrian-based financial service provider Bitcoin Xchange. OFAC said that Bitcoin Xchange had transferred funds on behalf of ISIS-related personnel from Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, South Africa, and the United States, and identified two TRON addresses associated with the French-sanctioned individual Miloud Abderrahmane.
