Wu Shuo learned that the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) announced that real estate developer David McWilliams appeared in court over an alleged A$10 million fraud scheme, facing 13 criminal charges. ASIC accuses him of misappropriating investor funds originally intended for a dedicated housing program for people with disabilities, with the total amount involved reaching A$10,138,587 (approximately US$6.7 million). The related funds were reportedly used for high-risk investments, real estate transactions, cryptocurrency investments, and luxury cars, among other purposes. ASIC stated that among the six related projects, only one began construction and no projects were completed. If convicted, McWilliams could face up to 20 years in prison.
