According to PYMNTS, Federal Reserve Board Governor Christopher Waller stated in his opening speech at the Fifth "International Role of the US Dollar" conference that this year's meeting will discuss the impact of digital assets such as stablecoins on the international role of the US dollar.


Waller said that tokenized assets like distributed ledger technology and stablecoins are creating new global dollar intermediary channels and may operate alongside or in conjunction with traditional banking and payment systems; the private sector is also rapidly expanding the availability of dollar-denominated assets.
