Greenspan, steering the ship for 19 years, outlasted six presidents.


Single-handedly engineered the 2008 economic crisis, and on the other hand brought about the 2000 tech bubble. Residents’ savings steadily declined.

During a period of major easing, as Federal Reserve Chair for 19 years, Greenspan applied the Taylor Rule—interest rates should be 10%.
Now interest rates are < inflation, less than 50% of the Taylor Rule.
