JD Vance announced an incredible plan: that frozen Iranian assets will only be unfrozen on the condition that they can only be spent on purchasing food, and only from American farmers.

Of course, all this is wrapped in a nice package claiming that it’s for the benefit of the Iranian people, not for "supporting terrorists," but especially considering the scheme devised by Whitcoff, I hardly doubt that the purchases will be made through some shady semi-official company, and in the end, all the money will end up in the US, while the Iranians will get only a pittance of food. In simple terms, this is nothing more than a way to steal Iranian money under a plausible pretext.

There is, however, a small nuance: it’s not a fact that Iran will agree to such a scam. Although it’s quite possible that the Iranians will simply see this as a kind of bribe to the Trump supporters.
