Chinese films have collapsed. The essence is that everyone is bewitched by star actors—drawn in by them too much.


People don’t go watch your movie just because you’re famous, but if the movie quality is good, they’ll still pay for it and buy tickets even without big-name stars.
The core reason this has happened is that over the past few years, a few bad films had overly effective promotion, deceived audiences, and effectively used up ticket revenue.
