🇮🇳BREAKING: India has increased purchases of Russian oil and coal as the Iran crisis disrupts energy flows across the region.

The move mirrors India's playbook from the early months of the Ukraine war, when it quietly doubled down on discounted Russian supply while Western nations pushed for a boycott.
India is the world's third-largest oil importer and cannot afford supply gaps. When one source of cheap energy gets disrupted, it turns to another, and Russia has consistently been willing to fill that role at a discount.
The shift also complicates Washington's energy diplomacy with New Delhi at a moment when the US was making inroads as India's largest gas supplier.
