Visitor → Freemium registration: approximately 13.7% on average.
Freemium → Paid conversion rate: an average of 3.7% (industry varies greatly). Excellent level 3-5%, outstanding 8-12%.
Out of every 1,000 visitors, Freemium usually results in about 5 paying users.
Industry differences (Freemium to Paid): Legal/LegalTech highest (6.1%), ERP (5.2%); EdTech lowest (2.6%), Real Estate (2.9%)
Churn rate: SaaS annualized average 10-14%, top companies aim for <8%.
Compared to free trials: higher conversion rates (median 8%, some reach 10-20%), but fewer registrations. Opt-out trials (automatic renewal after expiration) have very high conversion but are controversial.
Blockchain software conversion rates are much lower than internet products.
