Young people in India have formed a Cockroach Party.

In just one month, their official Instagram followers have exceeded 22 million.
They mobilize through social media, then bring people offline, using marches, sit-ins, slogans, and banging plates to pressure the government.
The incident began on May 16, when a judge of the Supreme Court of India called unemployed youth "cockroaches," and American student Dipke responded on X, asking what would happen if all cockroaches united.
Subsequently, the situation quickly fermented, turning into a youth political movement with satirical overtones.
The Cockroach Party reflects the extreme dissatisfaction of Indian youth with their current situation.
India has many young people, but good jobs are limited, and many can only do unstable gig work.
At the same time, competition for higher education is fierce, families invest a lot of time and money in coaching and exams, and also have to bear psychological pressure, pollution, and extreme heat.
Recently, the national medical entrance exam in India was reported to have leaked questions, impacting many students and families, who found that working hard to study does not necessarily bring fair opportunities.
The main demands of young people are to ask for the education minister to resign, investigate the exam leak, and improve the education system.
They also put forward broader political demands, including judicial independence, transparency in government spending, an increase in the proportion of women in parliamentary representation, and reducing the influence of billionaires over the media.
