Lately, I’ve been questioning whether buying a home even makes financial sense anymore.

• So many homes feel priced far above what they’re actually worth.
• Property taxes in places like New Jersey can be a second mortgage.
• Every repair and maintenance bill becomes my responsibility.
• My monthly mortgage payment would likely be higher than my current rent.
• There’s no promise the home will appreciate enough to justify the cost.
• And in many cases, I’d be giving up the amenities that come with a modern apartment.
I used to think homeownership was the obvious goal. Now I’m wondering if renting is the smarter move.
Am I the only one feeling this way, or are more people starting to question the traditional path?
