South Korea considers taking separate measures against Samsung and SK Hynix leveraged ETFs

Golden Finance reported that on June 22, Lee Chan-jin, head of the Financial Supervisory Service in South Korea, said that with no sign of retail investors’ demand for high-risk products cooling down, the financial regulators are considering separate stabilization measures for single-stock leveraged ETFs. At a press conference on Monday, Lee said that the side effects of single-stock leveraged ETFs are becoming increasingly severe. Lee also said the Financial Supervisory Service is investigating a failure in the stock allocation for SpaceX’s IPO by Future Assets, with the goal of preventing similar issues from happening again and protecting investors’ rights.
