My Trading Moment: The "Thrill" and Perseverance of a BTC Short

21:41, the cold light from the phone screen reflects the "Position Details," with the BTCUSDT short like a taut string, pulling at my breath. Isolated margin, 6x leverage, opening average price 63,595.8, while the mark price has soared to 65,255.3— the latest price is almost the same, every digit's fluctuation pounding on my trading logic.

「Contradictory Signals in the Position」

Position size 22 contracts (equivalent to 0.0022 BTC), worth 143.57 USDT. Initial margin 23.49 USDT, maintenance margin only 0.53 USDT. In the unrealized profit and loss column, the green number -3.65 USDT (-15.53%) is especially glaring, as if mocking my reckless "shorting against the trend."

But the next line "Profit and Loss (USDT)" shows -0.02, with an estimated liquidation price at 73,997.7— nearly 13k points above the current price, a "safety cushion." MMR (margin maintenance rate) is as high as 999+%, like a sturdy shield, telling me: as long as I don’t hit that "life or death line," I don’t need to worry about forced liquidation for now.

「The Struggle and Confidence in Trading Logic」

What made me short at 63,595.8? Maybe it was that seemingly fragile support on the candlestick chart, or perhaps my obsession with a "pullback." But the market loves to play tricks: BTC keeps breaking expectations, the latest price firmly stuck at 65,255.2, and the floating loss on the short position snowballs.

At this moment, the operation record column is glaringly blank, as if time has frozen. I hesitate before the "Stop Trading" button: stop loss? Add to position? Or hold tight? The 6x leverage amplifies the risk but also leaves a "margin for error"— as long as it doesn’t fall below 73,997.7, this position still has a chance to "turn around."

「The Trader’s “Mandatory Course”」

Trading moments are never just cold numbers, but a battle of psychology and logic: anxiety over floating losses, doubt about the trend, adherence to strategy... Every second questions: "Is your logic still intact? Are you disciplined?"

Perhaps in the end, this position will close with a stop loss, but the inner struggle and observation at this moment have already become a "living textbook" in my trading career—they teach me to respect the market’s unpredictability and also how to find my own rhythm amid volatility.
